i think i get it, but i just want to make sure that i can explain it thouroughly when i show it to my teacher on monday. this is for a project.

In recent studies, it's been shown more americans of voting age call and vote for american idol rather than voting in the last 2 presidential elections. it shows that people have more interest in television than what's going on in the country.

It's a satire on how just as many or more people vote on the American Idol competition compared to the Presidential election, and probably complain about the results.

It just means that by putting an American Idol box on the ballot, people will at least show up to vote. This was probably made because more people voted for the American Idol winner than for the Presidential elections one year.

its like this my friend ... people really dont care about politics unless you holdin onto the 60s and 70s... now, and not just young kats but old folks as well are getting bored with the same routine every year .... for example look at this years election ... its so hype it aint even funny ... we got a black president and had a lady runnin... that aint just politics thats unheard of right ?  well thats what that lil cartoon means ma dude more desperation from politicians than the american people .... soon enuff us as a country will run it not just one man um.. or woman

What I got from it is that young people do not vote in political elections.  Things like American Idol are more important to us than politics, which is really sad.  I hope that more people vote in this election than in the previous few, especially since it is so history-making.
