"It was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the gardener saw Wilson's body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete."

  2. There are a series of events that happens in this book. You have to read the book to be able to understand the quote. This is at the part where the mistress is killed and gatsby, I think, is the one who is suspect because of past events. If you have read the book, Gatsby gets killed in the end which explains the aftermath of the "holocaust."
