Can someone explain this video?

NASCAR's website has a video that will not work for some reason (at least not on my computer). The topic is "Will off season driver changes signal the end of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Nationwide Series team?"

Are there any talks of JR Motorsports seizing operations or is this just some writer trying to start another rumor?

  1. I can't view the video because it won't load but I can tell you I highly doubt it.  With Hendrick merging with the team itself and JR telling all the employees late last season that their jobs will be secure for a very long time makes me feel otherwise.

Also with the continued success of having Mark Martin and Jimmy Johnson driving cars as well as Brad K coming around I further doubt it.

  2. Nothing until next season....

During a press conference at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 16, 2008, Dale Earnhardt Jr. stated that once the Nationwide Series starts using the Car of Tomorrow chassis, which is set for an August, 2009 debut at the intermediate tracks, his Nationwide teams possibly will leave the Nationwide Series, due to the costs of switching cars. When asked if he will move JR Motorsports to the Sprint Cup Series, Earnhardt Jr. said that due to the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series almost having the same expensive costs, he might move the team to the Sprint Cup Series as early as 2009 "if the right opportunity comes along with the right sponsorship and driver..."
