  1. well u dont rly need 2 no all the stunts if u r in 6th grade... bcuz ur coach's will teach u... rly when i went into cheerleading i knew NOTHING about n-e stunts!! but u will have 2 work on splits, bridges, back walk over, & extensions ( witch is when u lift ppl up in the air ) during the cheerleading season.. -lol- i hope this helps!

  2. well i tryed out but i didn't make the 3rd cut i made it to the second. My friends made it and she said all they did was toe touches and lifted some people in the air.In middle school your not allowed to do like flips and stuff just little things

  3. There are several types of stunts that you will have to do as a cheerleader, however, since you are only in 6th grade, they probably won't expect you to be able to do any of them without proper training, as it can be very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. (I've had to go to a plastic surgeon and get 15 stitches because someone didn't know what they were doing when stunting)

Here are some basic stunts that you will need to know (they may be called different things, but this is what we've called them)

    1) Shoulder Sit - There is a walk up, and a pop up version of this, but is basically what it sounds like

    2) Knee Stand - This involves 3 people, 2 lunging, and the flier standing on the thighs of the lunging girls

    3) Shoulder Stand - This involves 2 people and a spotter, but is basically what it sounds like; 1 flier standing on the shoulders of a base

    4) Chair - Flier sitting on the extended arm of the base

    5) Elevator - 4 person stunt, with flier standing on the hands of 2 bases, with a back spotter (this will start at chest level and then move up to an extended position with hands extended straight out above your head)

    6) Basket Toss - This one is more complicated. There are 4 people in this stunt, the flier actually jumps onto the hands of the bases, which are linked together in a basket formation, and the flier is thrown into the air - does a toe-touch (or hurky etc...) then is caught by the 2 bases and spotter. DO NOT TRY THIS ONE WITHOUT A COACHES SUPERVISION... this is the stunt I had to get stitches for, so it is important that you know what you are doing!

Again, I don't expect that at your try-out you are going to be expected to know how to do these. A great magazine to subscribe to is American Cheerleader, they have a lot of great tips and ideas for cheerleading! Good luck!

  4. Um...on your profile thing it says you're 14...and here you say you're going into 6th grade?
