Can someone explain to me how pay pal works?

Hi i have a pay pal account from e bay i have never used it and last night i ordered some photos from my sons prom, i had to use pay pal how does it work do i not have to transfer money into it or does that pay pal take it from my bank account,im a bit worried in case i have not done it correctly, many thanks in advance

  1. It either takes money from your bank account or credit card, depending on which way you have set it up.


  2. It takes it straight from your bank account....not in 3 days but immediately...it will be on your statement already. Dont worry because if anything ever does go wrong paypal are brilliant and sort it out easily.....also you would get an email.

  3. I've had huge problems with Paypal recently.

    But I think the best thing to do would not to add funds to the paypal account, but instead add a credit card. Then when you pay for something, it is charged to your credit card just like any other payment.

    The good thing about this is that you get the credit card protections, which are much more than bank account protections, such as chargebacks.
