Question:

Can someone explain to me how the card "A Hero Emerges" works?

I know the effect, and what it does. But, what happens to the monster? Is the attack negated or is the monster destroyed once it is summoned to the field? If your opponent has more monsters, can he or she attack the newly summoned monster? Is your opponent's battle phase ended?

  1. yes he can ,n actually when u activate that card if it works u actually change the number of monsters on ur side of field meaning he doesn't have to attack his original target he can instead attack the newly summoned monster

  2. To answer your question, the monster does not get destroyed, for the time being.

Let's look at it like this. FOR EXAMPLE: Your opponent has 2 Dark Magicians on their side of the field. You have 1 E Hero Clayman in whichever position. In your hand you have only 1 card which is 1 Blue-Eyes White Dragon. One of the Dark Magician attacks your E-Hero Clayman and you then activate 'A Hero Emerges'. Your opponent selects this card, revealing it to be Blue-Eyes. Thus the Blue-Eyes gets Special Summoned.

Once Blue eyes hits the field, a 'replay' happens.

Basically, the rules state that during the battle phase, if the number of monsters change while an attack takes place, all attacks are stopped (not negated) and new targets must be designated.

your opponent can now choose to continue their attack on clayman with their 1st dark magician or 2nd one, it doesn't matter. OR he/she can decide to attack the blue eyes  FIRST with either dark magician  without killing the clayman.

What you need to remember is that in this case, once blue eyes hits the field, the only thing the opponent can do at this particular situation is to attack clayman because neither dark magician can kill the Blue eyes, due to ATK difference.

If either 2500 ATK dark magician attacked the 3000ATK BLue eyes, they would die in a suicide attempt.

HOWEVER, is the monster summoned was a weedy little soitsu (ZERO ATK and DEF, NO EFFECT), then both dark magicians coul eat up both targets: clayman and soitsu...

NO...the opponents battle phase does not end.

YES. the oppoent is free to attack the new monster

    the attack is NOT negated.
