Can someone explain to me the game fantasy football and is it fun to play?

I was not a football fan. Had no clue how to play Fantasy Football. A friend drug me into a league about 4 years ago and I have become a total addict. Last year I played in three leagues and was commissioner of my own league.  

A standard team consists of playing a quarterback, two running backs, Two to three receivers and a defensive team. You will also have several Extra players on your team you can change from week to week before games.

Most leagues now are Internet based so they do all the scoring and ranking which makes it very simple.

You will have a chosen day and time that everyone will take turns will choose there players. Knowing a little about the players helps but the first year you really have no clue. You want to select players that are not only good but from various teams. (not sure why but it seems to work), Each week when the REAL games are played your players get points according to how your league is set up. The team that you selected and the players you chose to play that week will play against another teams players. The total points from your players vs the total points form another teams players wins.

All that can vary depending on how the commissioner chooses to set up the league.
