Can someone explain to me what is wrong with my television?

Question

I own a 32in phillips televison, and about 3 inches from the top is completely black. So when i watch something like a baseball game, I cant see the scores. Basically the picture is cut off. The televison is standard

From your description it seems almost certain that the vertical amp section is faulty in the TV , an electro capacitor is likely to be the cause in the top linearity circuit ! .

At any event the fault should be routine easy for any TV Tech and not overly expensive !

Is the TV new? If it is maybe you have your tv set to caption mode for the def, you know the letters that come out at the bottom of the screen to read. Change the mode on the tv menu setup.

try what the other guy said, and look in ur menu also, and ur cable box/dish box (depending on which one u have) menu.
