  1. if you give someone too much power without limits they will eventually abuse this power

  2. Basically it means that power corrupts people, when people are allowed an immense aamount of power and no one to hold them back then they become corrupt and start wanting everything to be done how they want it, in their way. So basically it means that too much power will lead to corruption.

  3. If one is given power and it is not limited by someone or something, he will gain too much control. I guess you could say that all the animals were too obediant to Napoleon and let him take advantage of them.

  4. It means that any power that is not watched carefully by the masses that is allowed to flurish without consiquence will eventually lead to tyrannical rule. Its been a while since i read animal farm but thats the general jist of the idea.

  5. To check something means to limit it, to stop it, slow it down, or hold it still. So for example, in the three branches of American government, there are rules that form "checks and balances". These rules make sure that each branch can check the powers of the two other branches. This way, everyone gets what they need, but not everything they want, because usually that means taking away what other people need. This forms a balance of power. No one gets everything, and things stay stable.

If someone's power isn't checked, they get total control of everything, and then they do whatever they want. That's when you get tyranny, which is when a powerful person treats everyone else like slaves, because no one can check/stop them when they decide they want something. Animal Farm is a story about how Communism resulted in tyranny by a small group of people with unchecked power.

  6. It means if the people doesnt watch the people in power. They can take over and rule them. If the people let them do whatever they want, especially if its harmful to the citizens of the country, its tyranny. I like how the first guy said it

  7. think about it.
