Can someone explain what a rover is in volleyball?

ive got a tournenment tomarow and were using rover and i still dont understand plese hellp ,easy pointsss

  1. A rover is used in slow pitch softball, not volleyball.

    They may have meant the Libero.  The Libero is a defensive specialist.  They can replace any back row player after sitting out one rally.  (The only exception to that rule is when they replace the server in US colleges, US high schools and US junior high schools.  In no other rule set can the Libero serve.) The Libero may not attack a ball that is above the height of the net.  The Libero may not use their hands to set a ball when they are on or inside the 3 meter line.


  2. The rover is a type of defense in which one player defends the short tips around the 10 foot line! :)
