  1. South Ossetia is officially a part of Georgia. But the majority of ossetians  live in Russia in Northern Ossetia and S.O. to reunite with N.O. and be a part of Russia. During the last period 90% of ossetians gained Russian citezenship.

Southern Ossetia gained de-facto independence after the war of ossetians gained  92-94. Russian peacekeepers were put there by the UN. Georgia doesn't have right to have its troops there.

But the georgian government want that region back. So for the last 2 years Georgia was moving its forces towards Ossetia borders. In night of 07.08 Georgia started an invasion to S.O. They started shelling Tshinvali - 2000 civilians were killed, they attacked Russian peacekeepers base and 10 solders were killed.

S.Ossetia ask Russia as an official pecekeeper for help. After the UN did nothing to stop the fire and Ossetia was shelled for 15 hours, Russian troops came for rescue.

Now Russian forces are pushing Georgian troops away from S.O.

  2. Georgia was originally a satellite state of Russia during communism. This means that the Russians rules Georgia. Hence, a larger Russian population came into the area. When Georgie no longer was a satellite state and become its own independent country, this Russian population were mainly in South Osettia. These Russians want South Osettia as their own country with different laws, but Georgia does not want this. Therefore, Georgian soldiers went to South Osettia and at the same time, Russian soldiers from Russia entered South Osettia and supported the other Russian's there. Now, this is very serious because Russia has literally crossed the border of another country and have "invaded" the region. This could have lead to a war on Friday, and now Georgia and Russia are currently in dispute about this region.

  3. RUSSIA is a PROVOCATIVE, RUTHLESS, AGGRESSOR !!!

It started with Ossetian Provocations on the de facto borders. However, After little shootouts Georgia declared unilateral cease fire. It lasted several hours but Ossetian separatists - or let me say the ones that did not wish to stop - continued shooting and taking "lives of Georgian villagers".

Georgia was alarmed and decided to "restore constitutional order" in the region or maybe they meant over the ones that did not stop shooting. Anyhow, that is what Russians waited for so long and decided to "make them pay" (Vladimir Putin) for what they did. (what they did on their OWN sovereign territory.)

It was easy for them to mobilize troops because they have been stationed near the borders for WEEKS.http://mnweekly.ru/news/20080718/5533837...

prompting Georgia to think it was a well pre planned provocation. and that is what I think. Russia does not want Georgia to enter NATO. Russia does not want stable Georgia. I am sure they will find something with Ukraine too. Things like pro Russian region Crimea in Ukraine and so on and so forth to mount tensions and Black mail them. Very aggressive. War criminals !

    Source(s):

Days of sleepless nights and hundreds of Reliable news sources.

P.S. NEVER LISTEN TO RUSSIAN SOURCE ; such as russiatoday.ru and etc. Propaganda machine.

  4. The conflict definitely looks to be US and Israeli inspired.

The conflict being created in Georgia is intended to block Russia from materially supporting IRAN during the impending invasion.

Israeli military advisors were involved with the Georgian offensive against South Ossetia {pop 70,000}.

On 14th July Georgian & US troops started a joint military exercise.

The OSSETIANS speak ossetic, an Iranian language. They're descended from Iranian tribes of Eurasia.

They became CHRISTIANS during the early middle ages.

From 1922 Ossetia was part of the USSR.

Many of them would have Russian passports. Unlike Kosovo, the US will not support an independent South Ossetia.

No need to ask why the US media is so biased on this issue then !!
