So, I'm sitting in class today, and we were talking about any financial aid we've been able to get and tossing around some help to one another, when I found out that one of my friends got grant money from the government because he finished his anti-drug classes he was ordered to take. I'm all for helping out people who use drugs (probably because I do), but this kid got arrested one time for marijuana, was ordered to take the classes, and then because he completed them, he gets free money for school? I need money for school, and it shouldn't be going to teens who get drug charges. Does anyone else agree with me, or disagree, just have some reason as to how this works, or just want to add their opinion of whether or not it's fair?

  1. Hey, All I can say is "It is what it is" and who are YOU to be hating on that person.  That is the problem with the world today, Find Joy for that person, and you will be AMAZED at how many blessings U will receive.   I wish U much luck.

  2. the government wants to show that they help the reformed. It also lets them start a life and maybe more money can couple against the fact that they were arrested on their record

  3. That is pretty lame actually.  I have torn feelings, I think that criminals should be given assistance to try and educate them.  Education often = a reduction in crime.  However if he got busted for pot...who cares!

There needs to be some kind of law that delineates between those that committed crimes of stupidity and those who committed crimes of a bad lifestyle.
