I work. I have always worked. I have too much pride to lay around on welfare and suck up money from people who work.

Can someone explain to me why people who work are required to be drug tested but those on welfare aren't??

Aren't they testing the wrong people here?

  1. Do you really want the government to invade more into our lives? And I heard that somewhere if you are able you have to get a job to qualify for welfare. Don't know how true that is though.

  2. Well, that's an excellent question and I really don't know.

I also don't know why Congress doesn't have to submit to random testing.

  3. The Democrats want to make sure that the people paying for the lazy to live are perfectly capable of continuing to do this.

  4. because welfare is whats called a social safety net program. social safety net programs are necessary even in capitalistic societies because they keep the dirt poor from slitting the throats of the rich while they sleep comfortably in their beds so they can steal some bread to eat.  think about...and you will see that social safety net programs are actually good for the rich...it helps save their lives and keep their beautiful homes from being looted and burned to the ground by angry hungry mobs.

  5. maybe if congress changed this they would bump themselves back into the territory of double digit approval ratings.

  6. "Them thars the rules" as they say. I agree. I, too, have been homeless, selling cans and bottles and blood to stay alive.

I have never been on "welfare: that's one place I'll never be" as the country song says.

Yes, they are testing the wrong people! They should test the President and his cabinet, all of Congress (Senators and Representatives) and, most important, the Supreme Court. Then work their way down (governors, etc.) Once that is done, then they can go after the druggies, not the "working stiffs".

    See:

    "Is it NFL or NBA"?

    36

have been accused of spousal abuse

    7

    have been arrested for fraud

    19

have been accused of writing bad checks

    117

have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

    3

    have done time for assault

    8

    have been arrested for shoplifting

    21

currently are defendants in lawsuits, and

    84

have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is?

    Give up yet?    Scroll down,

Neither NBA or NFL, it's the 435 members of the United States Congress, the same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

You gotta pass this one on!

  7. Good question. If you are not legitimately medically stopped from working, then why can't they test them, since I am the one paying for them to have money?

  8. I work. They don't test me. Maybe you need a new job.

  9. sounds great....

any idea on how much money that would cost ?

Drug tests cost anywhere from 50-200 dollars...

do you know how easy it is to fake a drug test ?

what would this accomplish, except to add more cost to welfare program ?

I think we need to get rid of the people who are mooching off the system period... and let the welfare system do what it was intended to do... be a temporary "help" for people in between jobs.  Not a permanent facility to sit on your a..ss and collect money for nothing...

  10. yes  they are absolutely testing the wrong person someone who goes to work everyday works hard and PAYS THEIR TAXES so someone else can suckle from the government should never be tested and anyone getting a free ride from the government should be tested weekly and if they are found to be using their funds should be CUTOFF.
