Can someone explain why there are so many pregnant underaged teens?

When I see a question like this, I try to be the most supportive I can as a stranger since these people are my age and I wouldnt want to be treated like the way some people treat them. But when I see these posts of 12-16 year olds asking questions about are they pregnant, will s*x hurt cause theyre planning on it soon, it makes me so sad. Why are these people doing this? Im 14, and I couldnt even imagine having s*x for a verryyy, very long time. Im not judging them, Im just wondering, what makes such young people have s*x with people theyve dated for a few weeks?

im 13 and i totally agree. they just want to be independent and they think it could NEVER happen to them. they need to be more mature. i am waiting until im married because thats just a personal choice and i dont want to wind up pregnent and dropping out of school.

maybe they just think it sounds so great because of tv.. every "cool" channel pretty much has things about s*x and making out even with the same gender. i really think that there should be more family shows

Teens have s*x because they're horny, why else? When people get the urge, they do it. The reason so many teens are pregnant is because people don't educate their kids about s*x. Abstinence only programs DO NOT work and the high rate of pregnant teens is only evidence of that. You can't stop human nature.

I don't know why you would have s*x with someone you've only dated for a few weeks. But I also wish you wouldn't assume things like that the couple had only been dating a few weeks. Just by doing that, you're judging them. You're believing a stereotype about sexually active teens. You can't support people like you claim you try to if you buy into such hollow stereotypes.  

I have been been my boyfriend for a year and I love him very much. We've talked about our histories, all the "what if's", how to get protection and how we feel about doing different things. I know I'm not the only responsible one out there, so I don't assume things about other teens who are asking for help or advice.

one of the reasons might be because of lack of education another reason may be because teens don't understand how hard is taking care of a new born and the fact that you actually need a lot of money to take good care of a baby.

Or because they are horney teens

Even adults do these things too.They are lonely , maybe their parents and friends don't pay enough attention to them. They think it will please their lover or they think it makes them seem more adult like.

Honestly when you do have it, its not like you imagine it in your head.

Getting pregnant is better done by someone older, when you have a decent job or are more stable off.

Some people blame it on the media. Some people blame it on culture. Some people blame it on s*x ed. Some peoples blame it on the internet.

People really don't want s*x. Some people feel forced upon it to maintain their social position in school. The more s*x you get, the more awesome you are. BECAUSE YOUR NOT A VIRGIN AND OMG BOOBIES, basically from another kid's standpoint.

Of course, the earliness of puberty these days brings it on. While I do not wish to find another 12 year old sweetheart while I impregnate them, it's completely possible. And in these days where g*y is out and noone can tell if they are straight, from the getgo, they choose their feelings, BAM.

Because their parents let them go where ever they want and do what they want plus they do not have enough sense to get on birth control and the guys do not have 3 quarters to buy a condom.

If someone cannot afford a condom then they should not be having s*x at all.

If someone is still relying on their parents for shelter, food, clothes, car rides and so on then they should not be having babies.

I guess they think they are doing something great when they get pregnant but they are only hurting theirselves so i don't feel sorry for them because you can get birth control free at the health department and if they cannot do that then oh well have fun watching a baby 24/7

I'm 13 and saving s*x for marriage. But the sad thing is that in a forum I came across a girl only about 2 years older than me asking why s*x is a big deal. And I was totally disgusted, because it's the people like them who think they won't be part of the percentage of pregnant teens, and they test and test their luck, and then they get pregnant.

i understand where your coming from but when you hit a certain age you will forget about this. i mean your still young you have your whole life ahead of you god is the one that makes your life stories. but glad you think this way
