If I move to Florida, and just say I take a job making about $8.00/hour and work 40 hours a week, that means $320.00 a week.... so how much of that would I actually take home after taxes?? (don't live in the U.S. currently thats why I don't know how much tax is taken.)

  1. It depends on how much you chose to have taken out of your check. If you chose 20% then that's how much it will be. They also take money out for social security and medicare. My guess is that it would be about $250 maybe less a week.

  2. You can figure it out exactly.  Plug in your numbers at

  3. ummm, not as much as u started with thats for sure, im not sure how much is taken for taxes, i dont have to worry about that stuff, ITS GREAT TO BE  A KID!!! :P

  4. Without knowing any of your other deductions, I calculated it as:

    Weekly Gross Pay

    $320.00

    Federal Withholding

    $22.90

    Social Security

    $19.84

    Medicare

    $4.64

    Florida

    $0.00

    Net Pay

    $272.62

You can run through this yourself if you have additional info to enter to get a better result (like 401k and medical...etc)

  5. close to $ 56.00 where i live

  6. I don't know if its true but i heard 20 on a 100. So you would take home around 250 or 260.....that is how I always figured it when i was working and it was pretty close

  7. I'd say about 30-40%, not including any insurance premiums out of your paycheck, voluntary benefits, like disability, vision, and dental plans.

30% would leave you with about $224, and 40% would leave you with about $192.00

Taxes suck, as well as paying for the welfare, medicaid, homeless, and uneducated...Bring back Eugenics!
