I am in the middle (almost the end) of a long drawn out process of getting my daughter on medicaid for kids. i have been unemployed and recently did get employed. we cannot afford our bills even with my income so we really do need this , but the govt wont consider what your house costs, only what you make. my question is , can they find out only from ym social security number, and if so, how?

  1. You do realize they will run a credit check.  If and when they find out you will be charged with fraud.

  2. Most people cannot use your SSN to locate income information, but the government can.  Your income is reported to the state workforce commission, so yes, they will be able to find out if you are working.

Really, you're talking about committing fraud.  Most people think that is no big deal, but it is.  You can get arrested for Medicaid fraud, and prosecuted, and fined, and jail time and/or probation.  You can also be excluded from ever qualifying for Medicaid in the future.

This is NOT a good idea.  A better idea would be to contact a public hospital in the area.  Where I live, you can easily get on a public hospital plan for free, or sliding scale based on income.  When I was on it, it was completely free, all visits and all medication at all public clinics and hospitals.

There are other options besides fraud.  Think about it -- you obviously care about your daughter.  Are you setting a good example for her?

And who will take care of her when you get arrested?

  3. maybe you should consider downsizing your current living residence, if the government refuses you because your income is too high then you need to cut your expenses

  4. The GOVERNMENT can, because your employer reports to the social security office.

What you're trying to do is called welfare fraud.  Just so you know.

You've got too much house.  That's not going to change.  Sooner or later, you're going to have to get rid of the house.

Your moral decisions, especially when the going gets tough, are what teach your children right from wrong.  So ..  you want to teach your children to lie and cheat and steal?  Lie to the government, cheat to get benefits you aren't eligible for, and steal from all the HONEST taxpayers?  Your call.

  5. It's possible, all they have to do is pull up your account at the Social Security Administration and see if you are getting regular deposits from anyone.  The amount of the deposit is based on the amount of money you make.
