  1. Absolutely.  Some fields of study, like medical, require that you pass a competency test to practice here though.

  2. Yes, but do your research to ensure that your Canadian school is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (most, if not all 'universities' are). If recognized and if you're a U.S. Citizen, you'll be eligible for the U.S. Government's 'Stafford Student' loan and your parents (if you're a minor) will be eligible for the 'Parents PLUS' loan.

    Two things to consider:

    1) In Canada, the terms "university" and "college" are not interchangable like they are in the States. You'll want to research "universities" (not colleges) for a BS/BA degree. Canadian "colleges" are more similar to U.S. junior or community colleges.

    2) You'll be considered an "international student" so don't forget to include any "international student fees" when calculating your expenses. There may be an extra fee for your application, as well. Additional fees will be outlined on the Canadian school's website.

A high level process for American students considering a Canadian post-secondary education is outlined on the website below. It includes everything from 'finding your school' to a 'suggested packing list'.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  3. Yes, so long as it's from a good university a Canadian university qualification is good anywhere in the world.
