Can someone get a positive home pregnancy test only two days after having s*x?

Question

My brother recently lost his virginity last week on thursday.That following saturday, only two days later, the girl says she is pregnant.I told him that I don't believe this is his baby because it would be too soon to get a positive that soon afterward.He is in love with the fact of having a baby and he is only 19.The girl is 25 and already has two kids from two different men.None of the fathers are involved in the kids lives.I am just worried that he truly believes in his heart of hearts that this is his baby.I am trying to look out for my brother because he is young and I don't want him to raise another mans's baby.Please give your input.Thanks.

only if she was already pregnant.

it would take an absolute MINIMUM of 1 week to get a positive after s*x that caused the pregnancy.  more likely 3 weeks

there is NO way that is his baby if he had s*x with her the first time 2 days before the test was taken.  NO WAY

Not his baby, she was pregnant already! There is no way anybody would test positive within 2 days of having s*x.

It is very unlikely that she would know only 2 days after having s*x.  It sounds like you are correct with the situation.  In order for her to know that she is for sure pregnant then she would have to have taken a test.  The earliest a home pregnancy test can detect pregnancy is only 4 days before your period should begin.  She would have to have been ovulating at the time they had s*x to get pregnant.  Most women ovulate on days 12 - 14 of their cycle.  So really she wouldn't know if she is pregnant.  I think that she is taking advantage of your brother and you really need to sit him down and try to get through to him.

No way ... it is definately too soon.  As far as I know most tests advise testing after 14 days.  She sounds like a trickster :(

no it takes longer, more than two days

there are pregnancy tests you can take that will tell you like 2 weeks before your missed period, but, thats about as soon as they get i think, but seriously, i dont think its your brothers.

i know that may be a disappointment for him, but he's pretty young, and maybe he should just take some time.

anyway if worse comes to worse, get a blood test when the baby's born.

I didnt find out that i was pregnant untill i was 6 weeks and I had thought i was and i took a test when i was maybe 3.5 or 4 and it came up negative...but tell him if he really think this is his baby to go to the doctors with the woman and they will tell them how many weeks and then he can put the dates in his mind and it will be clear its not his...and if she wont let him go to the doctor then she is hiding something...
