  1. my friend got kicked out because she didn't wear slacks and a formal shirt. She had just gotten back from visiting the hospital and wanted to pray. but no, they kicked her out because she was in jeans.

  2. He doesn't believe in relationships? How the h**l does he expect the species to propagate?

  3. Sounds like a church and preacher you want to avoid.  I think that man crossed the line.  Sorry about that.

  4. Sigh... people are so silly sometimes.

This guy is a perfect example of how many religious leaders use their position of power as a way to teach and spread their own opinions.

As a former Christian, I know that most churches do not have a problem with people being in relationships. You're right, God DID make Eve for Adam. He made Eve as his companion. If your pastor doesn't know that, he shouldn't be preaching.

  5. Depends on the church. Most true and legitimate churches wouldn't be that trivial, but a congregation lead by a despot and control freak of a pastor will kick you out for even less than that...but then, those aren't real churches but cults!

One of the major signs that a church may be a cult is that the leader dominates the membership, closely controlling them physically, sexually and emotionally. This certainly sounds like this may be the case as you mention him trying to impose his beliefs about relationships upon others, and with him trying to prevent people from having any sort of social life such as dating. So be careful.

You could try to go back if you wanted to, but if the only reason to go back there is to try to "best" him because you think he and your girlfriend are now in a relationship, then that is the wrong motivation for attending the church.  Better to find a different and better church, one based on solid Biblical and traditional principles, and let your girlfriend decide for herself what she wants to do.

Yes, it is wrong for the pastor to come onto her. Yes, it's definitely an abuse of his authority, but she's still accountable for her own actions before God, just as you are accountable for yours.

  6. Simple answer is no.

Complicated answer is that Church is made up of people, so unfortunately it's an organization that is not without problems.

I know far to many people who feel burned because of what someone else said or did at church.  If you want an excuse to be mad, you'll find one!  His "advice" is based on his opinion, not necessarily on what's found in the Word.

  7. that is up to the minister....thats incredibly rude!!! He wont listen wo why bother going anyway?

    i think youre trolling!

  8. One, I wouldn't be so insulting.  You probably should have pulled him aside, ask if it is okay to ask him something about his beliefs, then state your case politely about how you feel about it.

Two, if you are being very rude, you might have gotten kicked out for that instead.

I would apologize to him first off and ask if it is ok to come back to his church.

  9. when you say relationships do you mean he doesn't believe in dating etc? because how else would you get to know the perspective spouse?

OR do you mean premarital s*x? which is a non no in any real christian faith.

he has no right to "kick" you out he if he thinks your are in sin should try to restore you. only after you refuse to be restored and choose to blatantly practice sin then he is to not bother with you.

EDIT: if it's not about sin [premarital s*x] or whatever he is a nut and you are better off finding another church he did you a favor.

  10. Yea, well... thats religious people for ya.

  11. No one can get kicked out of church. But if your preacher kicked you out then he really isn't a good preacher and you should find a different church anyway.

  12. I got kicked out of Church for farting once.

  13. Yes.  If a pastor has any authority at all, he can kick out people he considers disruptive.  Of course, it helps if the majority of the congregation agrees with him.  Don't forget, "church" is not the same thing as "salvation", or even "faith".  To live in a specific community, you have to be able to get along with the people there, including the leadership.

  14. No, how is this religious or spiritual?

  15. Yes.

Freedom of opinion is not allowed in religious institutions
