  1. Most places charge from a range of 1.15 to 3.65 a mile.  It depends on what state you are in.  I have no idea what it would be in Texas.  Usually it costs more to haul the boat than what the boat is worth.

It would be cheaper to do it yourself or pay a friend.

Boat dealer's and manufacturer's pay about this much, sometimes a bit more, but in the long run it's more economical because they are hauling 4 to 8 boats which are worth it.

For example, if they charge $2 a mile to go 1000 miles with your boat, that's 2 grand.

And for a manufacturer to use the same hauler at the same rate with 8 boats, is only charged 250 each boat.

If you can find any local boat shops that know of any places that produce boats and ship them to Montana in your area, you could see if you can strike a deal to haul your boat up with theirs and pick your boat up at the dealership it comes to.

It's a long shot, but it's the best suggestion I could muster.
