yea yea I can look it up on the internet, but I would like people's opinions. I am a very VERY picky eater. well, i have *sensitive taste buds* haha. My friends want to go there tonight, but I'm questioning it cause we have a long night of dancing ahead and I need something good to eat and I'm afraid I won't find much that I will like on the menu....

Can anyone give me an idea of what kinds of foods they have? I like Chinese but I don't like sushi, but i LOVE tempura shrimp and teriyaki chicken and rice and such.... :)

Thank you!!!

  1. If you have sensitive taste buds you might want to give the curries a skip, they are lovely but tend towards the hot side. Look for things like spring rolls they normally come with a delicious plum sauce dip or a sweet chilli dip. Alternatively look for the peanut satays (beef or chicken) they are very tasty, you might have to eat a few to feel full. Thai Pad is also nice but you have to ask for the ingredients because there are a few variants ( prawns/Chicken, garlic, egg, sprouts, green onion and noodles) . Look for dishes that have Basil in the title, there are chillis in those but they tend to be milder on the palate. Some restuarants do a deep fried fish which sounds really oily but is not, it is lovely and is normally served with a coconut sauce.

  2. I just tried Thai a couple years back, and have to say I like it better then Chinese, but like Sushi better. But, being from South Texas, I've eaten spicy food my whole life.

That being said, I found there to be little difference, except there wasn't rice; the noodles was good though. If I was you, and I wished  I was going out dancing and partying tonight, I would roll with it and enjoy the new experience!

  3. thai food is delicious.  much nicer than chinese because it is lighter and fresher, without the thick/sticky sauces that are common with chinese.

it's a balance of flavours - hot, sweet, salty, sour and one of my favourite foods.  i love a green curry, coconut milk based, but if you don't like spicy don't order it.  if you like chicken and rice, you will definitely find something on a thai menu to enjoy.

  4. Hi Green Eyes...

Thai is similar to Chinese food, but Thai food is more aromatic with stronger flavors.

For example, Thai Red Curry is spicy, sweet, coconutty (from the coconut milk) and aromatic (garlic, lime, lemongrass).  Some dishes add a little spicy into the mix too.

In some respects, Thai food has more contrast in flavors than Chinese food.  Thai food like to combine the sweet with savory and aromatic.

Some good dishes to try for a mild palate - Cashew nut chicken, Garlic Basil Chicken/Pork or beef, Brocolli beef.  Grilled chicken is pretty good and skewered chicken.

  5. Thai food is fragrant and aromatic -the flavours come from a mixture of coriander, basil, galangal (strong gingery taste), kaffir lime (strong lemony taste), chilli (can be verry hot!) and coconut (usually). of course it has garlic and onions also (keep the mints handy afterward!). If you like strong flavours you should enjoy it, if you have a strong aversion to any of the ingredients mentioned above, you probably wont like it.

try it out, most people love Thai food!

  6. ask for some rice, egg roles. and some of their soup or something. thats really good.

soup is like a cury and it's really good : )

maybe it was a cury? well I think it was soup though, it had alot of vegetables. and pretty good spices. and the one I had had tofu but, the tofu didnt realy even taste like tofu, it tasted really good!

  7. Monkey Ball Soup?

  8. Umm. You won't like it. Unless you get something that isn't "real thia food" like that has coconut milk or curries in it.  So just stick with basic chicken, rice and brocolli or something. They have soups, and fish, and meat, and tofu that can be stir-fryed kinda like chinese food.  But they have some crazy sauces. I personally like Chinese food way better. Thai is okay.

  9. The only Thai food I have ever eaten was bamboo and I still have splinters in my gums.

  10. my mom is Thai.  We used to eat a lot of sticky(sweet) rice, egg rolls, beef and pork salad, monkey ball soup, fried rice(made better than any other Japanese or Chinese restaurant).  My mom used a lot of Thai chili's in her food, i think curry as well
