  1. Not chlorinating:  risk is nearly 100% sure that you will get bad things growing in your water.  Maybe just algae, but maybe pathogens (diseases) as well.

Chlorination or other sanitizers kept at proper levels:  Eliminates the above risk nearly 100%.  If you use liquid, powder, or tablet chlorine products and handle them per the recommendations of the manufacturer there is very close to 0 risk of anything bad happening.  Handle or store the material unsafely and then you do have some risk of chlorine inhalation injury, chemical burns, or the like.  Proper use = safe use = very low risk.

  2. Not sure of the question.

When adding chlorine to a pool, if liquid, there is risk you will spill it on yourself, or get it in your eye.  Also, there is deadly risk if you accidentially (or purposely) mix chlorine and acid--the cloud of gas generated can be lethal if inhaled.  Chlorine and acid should not be transported together, and should not be stored together.

For the pool itself, if you over chlorinate, your swimmers will get red eye, dry skin, etc.   Swim suits may also be bleached.  Depends on how much you put in I suppose.

I suppose the best place to look is on a jug of bleach.  It will have all the warnings you need.

  3. Most chlorine products are pretty safe unless you mix with acid.....gas chlorine can be dangerous but  but this is applied by professionals with special equipment.
