Can someone give me a suggestion for a mountain bike?

I have an old Magna Equator (which I later found out was put on recall in 2000, the same year I bought it) and need a newer, better bike.

I'm a beginner in terms of riding. I'm 6'4" and weigh 215 lbs.

Any affordable, comfortable mountain bikes that anyone knows of?
