  1. Civil law is a civil wrong or tort that is acted upon to draw monetary punishment or reimbursement.  It covers pretty much any law between two people that can't result in jail and some laws that involve a person and a entity or even two entities (corporations).  Basically just think of it as a rule someone broke that has to be settled in a way other than jail. Usually monetarily

  2. easiest way to describe..civil law is a crime which is punishable by monetary awards..like lawsuits against businesses...insurance companies and such..ppl filing civil lawsuits are trying to get money as a form of punishment from the person who did them wrong - the burden of proof in a civil case is less than in a criminal case..in a civil case its a proponderence of evidence..in a criminal..its beyond a reasonable doubt...

  3. Ok, Criminal Law is just that, a crime and must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

A civil law is like a traffic ticket. Not speeding to endanger, or reckless driving, but like a parking ticket.

  4. It is law regarding person to person action. Laws that have to do with contracts and things of that nature.

Criminal law is actions that are aginst the state
