Question:

Can someone give me any information like sites or books of understanding cars?

I would like to be a person who just opens a car bonnet and tell you everything about the engine and different parts of the car. I feel its a good skill to know so can anyone help me in just learning what their is to know about different cars and all the words and definitions

It definitely is a good skill.  I started with learning about my own car.  You can purchase guides at the bookstore that are specific to your make and model.  Once you learn about your own, spotting parts in other cars shouldn't be too hard, although it takes practice.   Cars are a huge investment, and should be taken seriously as such.


  2. Check out the Haynes manuals available from places like Halfords. They do a range of really useful books like Basic Automotive Electronics and Introduction to Car Maintenance, that sort of thing. They're really helpful and easy to use. They also do specialised books for individual cars.

    Check out your local college for a mechanics course, too - they can be good.

    Hope that helps, and one day you'll know your Big End from your Mc Pherson Strut!
