  1. Here's some good websites that will give you what you need:

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

    http://www.weather.gov/os/hurricane/inde...

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutgloss.shtml

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutsshs.shtml

    http://www.srh.noaa.gov/srh/jetstream/tr...

    http://hurricane.accuweather.com/hurrica...

    http://hurricane.accuweather.com/hurrica...

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/dcmi.shtml

  2. I use

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

There are links there to a lot of info sites that are weather related for all parts of the world.

  3. I usually use http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ but i just found this on google!

  4. I live in Mobile, AL and, as a matter of necessity, we must stay informed about hurricanes.  Our local CBS news station has excellent information on hurricanes that you might find interesting  - http://www.wkrg.com;  they have a pretty in depth weather section as well as links to other sites that you might find helpful.

Having lived on the Gulf Coast since 1979 and having been through a number of storms (from Frederick to Katrina) one of the good  things about a storm aftermath is the way neighbors and strangers come together to help each other.  From neighborhood cookouts (to use up thawing food) to group cleanups - the basic good in people always seems to shine through after a storm.  The morning after Ivan hit, I came back from checking on some elderly neighbors down the street to find a group of young men with chain saws voluntarily cutting a tree off of my roof.  No electricity (and no A/C) brings out lawn chairs and neighbors catching whatever cool breeze there may be in the evenings.  I certainly don't welcome a hurricane, but sometimes Mother Nature will shake us by the nape of the neck and remind us of what is important - life, friends, family and faith.
