Ok, i'm in Ocean City Maryland and I went into a store on the boardwalk. Inside I bought a hookah for "tobacco" and the lady asked if I wanted to buy Salvia. She told me it would give me a really good high for 15 minutes and I was pretty skeptical on trying a new drug that i've never even heard of. So I told her no and she kept nagging me and stuff and I left. I looked it up and it seems kind of iffy, but I still have it in the back of my head. I was wondering if anyone has tried it, and if they can give me any information on their experience and whether it was good or bad. Or even a second hand experience or witnesses to others experiences? Any additional information will be greatly appreciated. and btw it is legal at this moment in Maryland and my home state, Pennsylvania.

  1. Salvia D is not a party drug so dont use it to get high or you will more then likely have a bad experience! Its a mind altering drug. Unlike halluicnogens ( lsd, shroomz, etc) Salvia is a disociative ( cant spell it) and unlike a hallucinogen you are diconnected from reality! and i mean diconected! Unlike a shroom trip or lsd trip where ur hallucinating off ur *** but you can distinguish it from reality Salvia makes you feel like your in a dream an you DONT know whats real and its very easy to over do it and hit a level 6 trip that can even make you have a trip where you drooling on the floor shaking then wake up 15 minutes later and not remember your trip or walk around not knowing what in the h**l your doing and can cause possible injuries or death thats why always have a sitter cuz u dont kn ow wtf ur doing!. All i say is think it over. Go to www.salviasource.org or www.erowid.org great information there and read some trip reports.

  2. Salvia is a genus of plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is one of three genera commonly referred to as sage. When used without modifiers, sage generally refers to common sage (Salvia officinalis); however, it can be used with modifiers to refer to any member of the genus. This genus includes approximately 700 to 900 species of shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and annuals with almost world-wide distribution. The center of diversity and origin appears to be Central and South Western Asia.[1] Different species of sage are grown as herbs and as ornamental plants.[2] The ornamental species are commonly referred to by their scientific name Salvia.

The closely related genera Perovskia and Phlomis are also known as sage. Some species of the unrelated genus Artemisia are also referred to as sages, a shortened version of sagebrush. Smudge bundles are made with various grey-leaved species of Artemisia and are misrepresented as "whitesage" smudges. The true whitesage is Salvia apiana.

Salvia species include annual, biennial, or perennial herbs, and a few woody based sub-shrubs. The stems are typically angled like other members in Lamiaceae. The flowers are produced in spikes, racemes, or panicles, and generally produce a showy display with flower colors ranging from blue to red with white and yellow less common. The calyx is normally tubular or bell shaped, with out bearded throats, and divided into 2 parts or lips, the upper lip entire or 3-toothed, the lower 2-cleft. The corollas are often claw shaped and are 2-lipped with the upper lip entire or notched and the lower spreading. The lower lip typically has 3 lobes with the middle lobe longest. The stamens are reduced to two short structures with anthers 2-celled, the upper cell fertile, and the lower imperfect. The flower styles are 2-cleft. The fruits are smooth nutlets and many species have a mucilaginous coating.

  3. It's very, very, very different. I took an interest in it and was completely blown away. I've done quite a few different things, and the sheer intensity of the Salvia experience for me was comparable to DMT, but a more "visceral" trip. The quick onset, the abrupt loss of reality, and the "trespassing" other realm feeling are all present, but while for me DMT feels much more "clean" feeling ( I get a weirdly futuristic-space feeling from it), the Salvia left me with a very jungle/animal feeling . YMMV.

The negative press coming from Salvia Divinorum seems to be caused by stupid kids looking for a cheap high, which is not what this is. It's very enlightening and extremely intense, but it's not pleasant the first time for most people. Or ever truly "pleasant", really. It's one of those teaching plants, not so much the get stoned and relax plants.

If you decide to go for it, be careful. Do use a sitter, do try to mentally prepare yourself for it, do not do anything stupid, and do not combine it with other drugs unless you're a very brave and very experienced psychonaut. I don't think I'd combine Salvia with anything and I've had quite a few successful trips ranging from terrifying to spiritual.

Good luck, and be safe. :)

    EDIT: Psyco is a moron.

It's an atypical psychedelic, NOT a dissociative. Just had to get that out there.
