I personally don't believe in God but my parents do. The other day my brother told my mom when he was mad at me. My mom was serious the whole day. Now about a week later she told my dad and my dad is trying to prove to me that there is a God. What should I do?

  1. You should realize that if you don't believe in God you are actually worshipping the devil without even knowing it.  Read your a Bible find out for sure before you just decide there is no God. which there is by the way.

  2. Where do you think people came from? They poped out of the sky like popcorn!?! Are you atheist *sigh*

  3. To believe or not to believe in God is your choice.  Your parents believe in God so therefore they expect you to.  Tell them your point of view.

  4. You should ask your parents to respect your beliefs just as you respect theirs. You are your own person and have every right to believe whatever you want.

I had the same issues with my parents, I finally shut my mother up by pointing out that there are a number of verses in the Bible that say not to judge one another.

  5. Possibly explain your side to your parents as to WHY you dont believe. Religion is a very personal choice. No one can force your thoughts. The ONE THING we control in this life is our own actions and if you dont believe, no one can make you. Good luck

  6. ok the post before is rediculous....now you need to tell them that its your life and your right to believe in whatever you want, wether it be god or budda or whatever, which inculds not believing in a greater power, jut sit dwn a try an have a CALM talk with them if they get rude/loud/unreasonable just simply get up and walk away (but e key s you have to stay calm to)

  7. Genesis 1:1---In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

whether you choose to believe thos first 4 words is your choice. Nodbody can makeyou believe because only by faith can you believe and only God can convict you. There is a God, wheter you choose to believe is your choice...

John 3:16' For God so loved the worls that He gave his one and only son to die for YOU...Godloves us and wants us to surrender to Him and give our life to Him so we can have an eternal life with Him...

    PS...GOd loves you!

  8. Well, good luck to your dad on proving the existence of God.  Kudos to him if he succeeds.  More seriously though...it's obvious that your parents are deeply religious people who expect a child of theirs to uphold their beliefs.  The best way to get through this is to articulate your questioning nature on the "existence" of God.  Your dad probably won't care and will persuade you otherwise, but words can be powerful. So, listen to your dad, but don't mold your beliefs to fit his.

And nobody can MAKE you believe.  They can talk your ear off, but they can't change your mind unless you allow it.  That is why we have our own mind, our own thoughts.

  9. You must know that your parents love you very much, and want the best for you.

Just because you don't believe in God, doesn't mean He isn't real.  God loved you before you ever love Him.  We don't have to understand everything about God, we just need to accept Him.  It is kind of hard to understand that He is a Spirit.

Just relax and pray about it.
