    or u show id/can be noisy/small-crowdy rms/not cleanest but

passable/laundry done only by staff for fee/small clothesline in office area(inconvenient access)/be sure u get "feedback" from reception so u & reception understand each other to avoid difficulties & misunderstandings//panama city EXTREMELY HUMID!!  not an hi(hostel international)hostel. www.voyagerhostelpanama.com   /email for current details.  tel. 507-6-569-5714

  3. panama backpackers  hostal, hostal nomba, hostal balboa they all are about 11 dollars a night.I live in panama city and own a bar some of the guys from panama backpackers used to come in here ,You can take a bus to Bocas del toro but when you get to bocas everything is exspensive .Buss`s run to colon when you get there you can get a bus to peurta bella, I go camping sometimes on a small island near isla grande ,cost 4 dollars for the boat ride to it .It has the best coral reefs in panama .I did the tica bus 2 weeks ago to san jose its 56 dollars round trip .San Jose is a nice city but it is 11 hours to san jose and 11 hours back .so no i wouldn`t waste my time in san jose.

  4. Ten bucks a night. Go to La Cigarra, in Santa Ana, in the Casco Viejo area.  If you want to study "La Vida Panameña", this is the place to do so.  It is not for everyone.

What does the price include?  The building is old, but has been “refurbished”.  The atmosphere is budget, but very clean.  No unusual smells, no noise, no shared bathrooms, or greasy overhead fans.

What you get here is a clean room (mopped daily), a bathroom all to yourself (cleaned daily), a bed or two (good quality...not u shaped), an air conditioner that you control, sheets changed every 3 days (if you pay monthly) and a wall mounted decent sized color T.V. with remote control.

Some rooms are above the Peatonal (the Pedestrian Mall), and are noisy during the day, but by 9 p.m. they become quiet.  When you turn on your A.C. you will never hear a bus, or car alarm.

If you have any questions call the hotel: 262-0765.

From Plaza de Cinco de Mayo, walk into the Peatonal and look for the sign on your right.  It will be closer to the other end of the mall.

From the bus stop at Calle 12, walk towards Machetazo.  Walk for for 4 minutes.  Past Machetazo (it is on your left).  Look for Saks (also on your left).  Right in front, you'll see a Jenny's restaurant and the entrance.  Or you can just walk past Machetazo, and simply look up for the overhead "La Cigarra" sign.

If this location isn't right for you, turn around, walk past the Plaza de Cinco de Mayo, across the street from the store of American Clothes is the Ave. Cuba. Walk along it and look for small hotels on the side streets between Ave Cuba and Ave Peru.

This is the district known as Caledonia.

There are a lot of little "budget" hotels there.  It is best to get one that is on a side street as they are less frequented by the "red devil" buses with their twin stack muffler free exhausts.
