Can someone give me some serious insight into gymnastics conditioning?

Does anyone know what exercises male gymnast's do to build biceps, i heard they spend very little time in the weight room.

  1. Oh that's so not true.  Male and female gymnasts spend a lot of time in the weight room.  You can't build biceps, lats, back and shoulder muscles for strength to do most moves by just practicing the moves.  You need strength, the only way to build strength is in the gym.


  2. UHM yes you do! you need to go to the weight room and ask the trainer which ones help you work on your biceps. You need to use those a lot to build up muscle. Also drink milk and stretch a lot.

  3. they do the bars and pommel horse and rings which builds major muscle. They do lift weights though.

  4. well they do spend time in the weight room especially if your not as fit as u need to be, but they also do a lot of handstand pushups and they do a lot of conditioning using the actual gymnast equitment, for ex. on the parallettes, you should do handstand pushups on that and then lower into a straddle (just a little insight!) hope i helped :]
