  1. I would volunteer at a kennel or SPCA  and get experience to see if that's what you want to do. I work at an SPCA and the vet tech there did euthanize the animals I seen it. I am currently attending a jr college studying to become one and my answer would be at a college. Look the colleges up to see what one offers this. Good luck.

  2. Actually, the vet tech is usually the one that has to euthanize the animal...

You should consider volunteering at your local shelter.  If you are very young, many of them have programs for kids where you can sign up with an adult and still volunteer.  You can see what it is like to work with animals and sometimes you can volunteer in their vet clinic (though the shelter here requires you to be 16 or older to volunteer in the vet clinic).

  3. Here is a site

The traditional career of a veterinary technician usually involves going to work in a small animal, large animal or mixed animal veterinary practice. With the emergence of specialties there are many more options to choose from. There are clinics specializing in ophthalmics, orthopedics, equines, exotics and emergency medicine, to name a few, and all of them are hiring both two-year and four-year graduate veterinary technicians.

A Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Technology opens many different opportunities for the veterinary technician. Positions in teaching, industry, research, government, zoos and private business can be obtained. Our students have found rewarding careers in pharmaceutical sales, dog day care ownership, USDA, and teaching in veterinary and veterinary technology programs. These jobs are usually looking for someone with a BS or higher degree.

  4. Try Bergen Community College in  Paramus NJ. They have a 2 year course. If your too young for  that ,, try volunteering at an animal shelter to see if you really like this type of work.

  5. Google.  Type in: What do vet techs do? And it will pull up a whole bunch of sites about vet tech. Good luck
