  1. * Concealer goes first. Getting a good concealer brush is key, because improperly applied concealer looks terrible. Don't use the dinky little ones that come in the package. Go to Sephora and purchase a good one. Use it to apply concealer where there is redness, but never directly onto zits.

    * Use a makeup sponge to apply foundation. Your foundation should perfectly match your skin tone or it won't look good. Apply it evenly across your face with the sponge. Be sure to blend! Don't forget to blend around your hairline and jawline.

(SIDE NOTE: Do you really need foundation? I doubt it, if you're just starting out with makeup then tinted moisturizer looks more natural and is better for your skin anyway. Whatever you do, get some with SPF so you can protect your skin from UV rays regardless of the season.)

    * Some key places to apply concealer or foundation: under your eyes, on your eyelids, around your nose, between your eyebrows, underneath your lips.

    * Apply a champagne eyeshadow with an eyeshadow brush. Sweep it across your eyelids, across your browbones, and on the inner corners of your eyes.

    * Layer a shadow in a neutral tone across just your lids.

    * If you must use eyeliner, then just use it on the outer corners to widen your eyes instead of shrinking them.

    * Always curl your eyelashes.

    * Mascara is a great beauty product, you didn't mention it so I assume you don't like it? If you don't, try clear mascara. Neutrogena makes a good one. This will enhance your lashes in a natural way. Eyelashes are very flirty and feminine. As I heard a makeup artist say once, "The main difference between Mickey and Minnie Mouse was her eyelashes."

    * If you want to apply blush, use a large blush brush. Smile big and apply it where your cheeks raise, this is called the apple of your cheek.

    * Finish with a bit of lip balm or gloss.

  2. Foundation- take your brush and dip it in the foundation [depending on what type you use] then start with your chin and in circular movements but it all over your face. don't put to much you want to look natural.

concealer- just take a dab of concealer and put it on areas that you would like to cover [acne, dark circles] blend it in..

eyeliner top lid- take your pencil, and draw a straight line across the lid of your eye. make sure it isn't to thick. if you make a mistake just take it off and try again. if you are using liquid liner. first apply a small line of pencil and trace it with the liquid liner. it will help you not make a squiggly line ha ha.

lower lid eyeliner- for this just put a little line on your lower lid. make sure it isn't to low. do it at the tips of your lashes were they connect to your eye [does that make sense?]

blush- pick a nice rose color and put it on in an upwards movement along the apple of your cheek. to find the "apple" smile. the big cheek lump is the apple ha ha. or suck in like a fish and trace that line along your face.

    hope that helps xx

  3. I just wrote a post on my beauty blog covering foundation and concealer:

    http://frappelattes.com/how-to-apply-fou...

It's part of a series of how-to apply makeup so stay tuned ♥

  4. I wrote content for a web site last year, and ended up transcribing several makeovers.  The cosmetologist did a show and tell about all kinds of makeup application.  Check out the link below.

The most important thing about foundation is to get a color that matches your skin.  You can apply from your hands, or using a makeup sponge that you can find at the drugstore.

I put my concealer on after foundation, so the foundation doesn't cover it up.  Also use concealer only where you need it--more likely under your inner eye.  Lots of women put it on heavy all under the eye, and that's not necessary.

    Have fun!
