First practice riding your board on a flat base on some very shallow terrain.  This means that you will ride straight and flat with no edging.  If you can't keep your board going straight and flat for quite a long time on shallow terrain then I would suggest you take some lessons to improve your riding.

Next, on that same shallow terrain, dig a line in the snow with your boot.  Practice riding flat over that line in the snow.  If you have access to bamboo or something similar, you can bury the stick in the snow and practice on that.

Once you have that mastered, go to a hill that has a terrain park with beginner features.  You should only try to ride the smallest boxes and rails that are flush with the snow or slightly above the snow to start.  When you can hit those successfully - every time - you can move up to the bigger rails.
