Can someone give me tips and advice on wood burning?

I just got a Weller 8 piece hobby iron wood burning kit from menards :) I like it so far but dont know much about wood burning. Can someone please fill me in with advice, tips, suggestions? Thanks :)

pencil in your drafts, use soft wood for faster burns, and have fun, mom use to chase me out side, dad liked the smell of wood burning.

Do you have a Woodcraft store in your town?  They often have classes for wood burning
