I have a 4 month old male cat. I want to get him neutered but he hasn't received his shots yet

Can he get neutered and then get his shots later?

  1. Well since It's your cat and don't want to just trust anyone to give advice about it's health, I'd say a phone call to the vet would be your best answer, But as soon as you can get it done, I have 2 male cat's and since I had them fixed early they don't spray or pee in the house.

and male cat pee really stinks unless you get him fixed.

  2. find a vet who will let you make payments

  3. You need the shots first to protect the other customers pets from anything your own cat may transmit.

  4. I work with a rescue organization and our cats are fixed by a vet or the Humane Society. The cats can be fixed if they are 2.5 pounds. They are given all their shots at the time of the fixing. You might try looking around and seeing if you can get the shots with the fix. Males are cheaper to fix usually, but it can run up a bill to fix them unfortunately. Some vets do fix cheaper for certain people (rescue groups, students, low incomes, feral owners). Call around and see what you can do. See if you can make payments on the bill or if you can apply for Care Credit.
