Can someone help me , what are the steps for street hot dog cart buisness?

i am planning to start a hot dog cart buisness on the street.but i do not know how to start and what are the steps to begain with.also do i need any kind of courses to start my own buisness.i also heard that i need a lisence for buiness but where should i get the lisence and how long does it take to get a lisence .please help me with my questions.

Your first step is going to be to contact your county department of health. They'll be able to supply you with all of the information you'll need, as far as what is allowable and what isn't, and what permits you'll need as well as where to get them. Once you know what you can and need to do legally, you can begin the hunt for a cart on ebay or craig's list, both are good sources for used equipment. Also, go to "Roadfood" web site and do a thurough search of the forums - you'll find a lifetime's worth of information there. Oh and, as far as a time-line goes - it all depends on how quickly the health inspector in your neck of the woods can give your cart the once over. But generally speaking you could be selling dogs within the next  month or two.

apply for a permit with the city where you plan to have the hot dog business. As part of the condition for receiving your permit you are required to take a course in health and safety. The class is 8 hours and it is sponsored and paid for by the city.
