  1. Get a broadband connection, cost anywhere from $14.99 to $49.99 per month   and then buy a  magicJack device and plug your regular phone into it.

Free unlimited calls in the US and Canada  with caller ID, voice mail and all the extras. Cost $39.95 for the device and no monthly charges.

  2. When I had dial up, I used 'Call Forwarding' while surfing the net. That way, any calls to my 'busy' number went to my cell phone....

  3. VoIPRaider.com, Nonoh.net

    Best of the lot!

  4. Go to SKYPE or is it  SKIPE ???

  5. what type of phone  do u have

  6. Yes, get a broadband connection

  7. Don't use dial up. Use dsl or broadband

  8. If you want to use the existing telephone service line for your Internet and make phone calls at same time, then you will need to subscribe to "DSL High-Speed Internet".  DSL Internet allows for using Internet at same time as making PSTN land-line phone calls.

Otherwise, use Cable Internet.  Cable Internet uses cable TV lines for your Internet signal and thus will not interfere with making land-line PSTN (public switched telephone network) phone calls you make on regular phone line.

If per chance you are using Dial-Up Internet over your phone line, then you will need to have a V.92 Dial-up modem.  V.92 modems have a feature called MOD - "Modem On Hold", which puts your dial-up Internet connection on hold while you switch over to taking incoming telephone calls.  When done with the phone call, you can then switch back to surfing on your dial-up Internet connection.  Talk to your dial-up Internet service provider to make sure their dial-up modems are V.92 compatible.
