I'm not sure about all of them, but I studied Modernist Literature recently and a good definition would be:

Modernism - A literary movement that grew out of the drastic social changes at the turn of the century and through the first couple of decades of the 20th century. Often included reflection about progress, identity, the self. Styles of writing including naturalism and psychological realism became more popular.

Some key figures were Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Bertolt Brecht, Franz Kafka...
