  1. First arrange your equation into the y=mx+b format.  Then you can use the slope to find another point on the line, and draw the line that would go through both your y-intercept and the point you found from the slope.  Check the source I listed below.

  2. can you graph:

    y=5x-3

    thats what it is

  3. You first need to put the equation into y=mx+b form.

5x-y=3  you need to get the y by its self, so you subtract the 5x from both sides.

    5x-y= 3

    -5x     -5x

    This now becomes -y= -5x+3

You need to make the -y positive, so divide each side by -1

    -y/-1= (-5x+3)/ -1

    The equation now becomes y=5x-3

happy graphing! if you need help with the graphing itself as well just email me.

  4. Solve for y then it will be in slope intercept form

    so it would be y=-5x+3

3 is your y intercept so graph it at (0,3) then use 5 as your slope and go up 5 points and over one point and connect the dots.

  5. what helps is plugging in numbers

for example lets use ur equation

    5x-y=3

if you plug in 0 as x, you get y= -3.  SO on the graph put the point (0,3)

  6. ok.. before you graph it, you need to get it into slope intercept form.

so....  subtract 5x from the left side so you get: -y=-5x+3

then you divide by negative 1 so you have :  y=5x-3

to graph it, you put a point on the y-axis on -3

from there you count up 5 points and right one and make another point

you then draw a line connecting the two points. =]

    hope that helped.

  7. Okay.

    1) Subtract 5x from both sides to get -y=-5x+3

2)Divide both sides by -1 tog et y=5x-3

    3)Draw a coordinate plane and plot the y-intercept (0,-3)

4)The slope of the equation is 5/1. So you go up the y-axis five points and to the right once. The next point should be (2,1). After that it's (7,2).

    5) Draw a line through the plotted points and you have graphed the equation.

  8. y=5x-3 so

start at -3 on the y axis (y intercept) and then just go up 5 over one one the x axis
