    and swing hard

  2. and wait for a high fastball that i can drive its all in the HIPS and i use my arm and leg strength i had 8 jacks this year in 12 games

  3. Flexibility, mechanics, and a wood bat will get you on your way to becoming a better hitter. Now before you look away from this let me explain. I can bet good money that you are not as flexible as a gymnast so until you are you have not done your job on making yourself flexible, which will make it easier for your body to move when you hit the ball and run the bases.

Now for mechanics, you have to video tape your hitting mechanics and learn where you are making errors in the hitting motion. Watch video of how Major League ballplayers hit the ball (go to www.mlb.com or www.youtube.com or google search "MLB First Year Player Draft") and take the quality basics of their mechanics in the videos and apply it to how you hit the baseball. For more info click here http://theprospect09.googlepages.com and see "Hitting With Success" and "Why You Should Hit With Wood."

Good luck with the training! Feel free to email me if you have any questions at theprospect09@gmail.com. Look forward to talking with you.

  4. Step into the pitch and be back in the batter box.

You need to have an anchor foot which stays in the back of the batter box. The other foot moves into the pitch.

Also While swinging the bat, flick your wrists on contact.

If you connect with the ball on the meat of the bat, you will see the ball fly as if you barely hit it. You meet the force of the ball with more power.

Practice this swing and if you don't understand, then check out other power hitters swings. Remember - practice.

    Good Luck!

  5. hitting a home run is mostly contact. my first home run was a line drive that hit the scoreboard in center field. (i broke one of the lights). the pitch needs to be up in the strike zone and where your comfortable hitting it.

  6. Make sure your elbow is up to assure that you are swinging through the ball with an even swing.  Good luck.  Hit one out for me.

  7. use your hips and legs to generate more power to your swing, works for me everytime!

  8. Alright, let me break it down for you buddy:

    1. Use a bat that you are very comfortable with. Some people like using lighter bats because they can swing it harder, some like heavier bats because they can control their swing.

    2. Choke up on the bat.

    3. Keep your back foot grounded in the back of the batters box

    4. Step into the pitch with your other foot

    5. It's all in the wrists- snap (flick) your wrists as soon as you make contact.

    6. Try to make the bat hit the ball at an upward angle, and just below the middle of the ball- that's the best place on the ball to make contact.

    7. Be sure to follow through.

If you want a great example of a power hitting swing, look at Josh Hamilton's swing. He has one of the best swings in the game.
