Can someone help me learn to understand the logs you get from keyloggers??

i have a keylogger that i installed on my laptop for personal backups. but i am not really sure how to understand the logs that well.. if someone could help me understand or link me to someone who can.. i would be very grateful.. so email me

  1. Keyloggers aren't used for personal backups. These softwares (or spywares) are used to record keystrokes made by anyone who used the system it was installed into. Some keyloggers can also record screenshots.

    Logs created by keyloggers depends on the software (or maybe the developer of the keylogger). Can you specify what is the exact name and version of the keylogger you are using? Common keyloggers will output a log similar below:

    [Yahoo! - Microsoft Internet Explorer]

    Search[SPACE]Keyloge[BACKSPACE]ger

    [Document1 - Microsoft Word]

    I am writing on a new document.[ENTER]

    I am writing on the second line.[ENTER]

    Ooops! I made a mistke[BACKSPACE][BACKSPACE]ake.

    As you can see, the keylogger will first specify the active window. Then, it will output all keystrokes recorded.
