I have recently made a website for a company and I want to send an invoice for the finished work. I don't have an invoice and all the template I can find on the net aren't really appropriate can someone either send me an example of what it should look like or thoroughly explain what I need on there.

Thanks, Ben.

  1. Get excel, if you don't have it google has its version as well.

You are on your own other then that, like everyone else. That includes myself, I design my own invoices.

  2. You can register at freelance websites like http://getafreelnacer.com/ , http://scriptlance.biz/ , http://eufrelance.com/ ,etc and start bidding for projects posted there , there you will get sample of invoices in your email.

  3. I wrote my own in InfoPath because it dumps the data into a database, but you can use word or excel if you wish. THe document just has to have your company name (or yours if you are a sole trader) and your address. Details of your client. Their name and address etc. Detaisl of the work carried out, including the dates of completion, number of hours etc, depending on how you agreed the site would be paid for (hourly rate, or piece work) unit total (cost of this piece of work) and total cost of the invoice (which may be the same, or the sum total if you have more than one thing on your invoice.)

On my invoices, I have the headings: Date|Detail|Amount|Unitprice|total

and total the invoice on the last column at the bottom row.

I send my invoices by email as a .pdf, which I create using Bullzip, a freebie from www.downloads.com.. THis is greate as it means you can keep an electronic copy of what you sent!
