I need to know if it is OK to plug an XBOX 360 into a Monster Power Center. I have plugged in all my other TV, cable box, etc. components...but was wondering if it is OK to plug a 360 into my power center (by Monster).

I want to protect my TV from surges, storms....but have read online about the 360 and it's Power Brick...(some say has built in surge protector)...and really would like to know if it would be compatable to plug the power cord from the 360 into my power center. Anyone knowledgeable about this....I would GREATLY appreciate your response.

Thank You!!!

  1. I wish somebody would go public about surge protectors!!!

Maybe this will help. A sugrge protector on a power strip wether it be $10 or $300 is about useless. In answer to your question NO it wont hurt, But it wont really help much either.

Thiere are only TWO  real ways to protect electronic equipment from surges. The first is to have your utility company install a real surge protector, This is a meter that replaces your old one, although they are expensive, most power companies charge a monthly fee for ever. The second way is to buy an UNITERUPTABLE POWER SUPPLY. It will run you about $100-$300 depending on the wattage. They are made to protect computers, But they will protect any electronic device. The UPS will never let the voltage go above or below what is safe for your equipment. I have one for my plasma tv and one for my computer. It is almost mandatory for the new tvs today. It does not take much to kill a $2000.oo Tv or for that matter anything with circuit boards.

You can get them at most stores that sell computers.

  2. NO IT WONT HURT THE 360.AS A MATTER OF FACT,YOU WILL HAVE TWICE THE SURGE PROTECTION FOR THE XB360 WITH ITS OWN SURGE PROTECTION AND ALSO THE MONSTER PROTECTION IN LINE.
