Lol, funny question i pose. I just wanted your attention.

Can someone give me more information on the russian tanks being used.

MOST OF ALL! This is really buggin my brains, what on earth are these square boxes on the tanks, in the front and sides. its square things.

Its on 17 seconds. look at the tanks they have some small square shapes around them. what are they.

  1. I noticed them the other day, a Russian friend of mine told me that they are heat shield tiles. Don't know if he was pulling my leg do.

    edit: I should explain his reasoning for the statement. Seems they learned during the Afghan war that if they covered the tanks with ceramic hoobs from a cooker it reduced the accuracy of heat seeking missiles.

The square things are reactive armor.  Two plates of metal with explosive sandwiched between.  When a shape charge hits them, like the one in a shoulder launched anti-tank rocket, it sets off the explosive sandwich which defeats the explosively formed penetrator on the rocket or shell and prevents it from piercing the armor.
