downstairs i have an adsl modem on my pc which is use for my TALK TALK BROADBAND. My ps3 is upstairs in my room how do i set it up so my ps3 can be online using my broadband connection?.. do i just get a router and connect it to my pc and modem and then my ps3 will read it?

i also dont want to use a method of having wire going all the way upstairs.

my talk talk set up for broadband is not wireless, and the modem only has 2 connections which are; the usb which goes to the pc and one input for the rj35 cable (i think its called) which goes from the modem to the phone line.

one other thing, can you play the ps3 online without having to leave the pc on?

please help if you can

thanks

  1. enter your wireless network info

    like "SSID Motorola"

    password

    what type of connection

    and SSID settings

  2. yeh if u wanna play ps3 online without having a long *** cable running upstairs to downstairs then wireless would be the way to go

    its not hard

    u buy a router

connect it to ur p.c and modem, set it up

make a security key for it (its better too)

then u go on ur ps3

then u go network setting< new connection

or something that says start new connection of any sort

then u go through the steps of finding ur router and save it and u got online ps3

    and one other thing

    yes

lol u can play ps3 online with or without the pc on, but just dont turn off ur modem or router or else u'll have a connection failure while playing online

    hope this helps

    peace

  3. there are some interesting articles about it at:

  4. If you don't have wireless you'll need to wire it up using a really really long extension.

If you don't have wireless you'll have to leave the PC on
