Can someone help me to identify this bug?

I live in central illinois and I found these bugs in my basement. It is dark with between 6-10 legs (I think 8). It is the size of a spider and it runs very fast like some spiders can but it can also jump exactly like a grasshopper. I think I see antennas but im not sure. I have tried to kill some but they have reaction times as fast as flies and are very hard to kill.

Could anyone please give me not only the real name and scientific name but also a little bit information more about this fascinating creature?

Well, not sure without a pic.  The possibility I am thinking about is an insect with only 6 legs, and long antenna.

It is possible that it is a cave cricket - family Rhaphidophoridae
