  1. Well, I am german and this sentence does make no sense to me! I could only guess what this sentence is supposed to say but there is at least three different choices.

    Where did you get this sentence from? Where did you read it? I might be able to properly translate if I know what else was written.

    Right now this sentence says : I have congratulated from the university and want something to do!

    Doesn't make sense whatsoever !

    etw. is a abbriviation for etwas (something)

    I don't know German, but I think it means that the person graduated from a university and nearly earned some honor. Maybe "etw" refers to some honor like magna *** laude, or it could mean they went to graduate school and nearly got a higher degree, but didn't finish graduate school.
