Can someone help me understand a couple of motorbike terms? What is a Hypermoto and a naked Motorbike?

A hypermotard is sorta like a dirt bike (scrambler) that is street legal - or races on tarmac rather than dirt, which kind of displays a different sort of skills for racers (sliding mainly, and putting up with them daft ickle wheels)

A "nekid" bike is more likely to be a sports bike with all the fairings etc. stripped off, probably with a more upright riding position and a 'traditional' street racer look. Though manufacturers have plugged into this fasion and produce bikes that are "naked" such as the beeeeautiful Triumph speed triple and it's little bruv. the street triple (600 cc)

It's odd really, cos back in the days when all sports bikes were naked, people went to great lengths to fabricate and find ingeneous ways to fit farings to their bikes, now they virtually come as standard - people can't wait to rip them off and get nekid - go figure!
