I downloaded Wimamp to try it out, and decided to stick with Windows Media Player. I download videos and mp3's but open up with Winamp. I deleted and uninstalled Winamp. How is this happening? My downloaded files should open up with Windows Media Player not Winamp. I looked in my Progam Files and I don't see Winamp. Is their something that I missed when I uninstalled Winamp? I already set my default player as Windows Media Player. I also chose for Media Player to open all audio and video files too. I have Winzip installed if that helps. Help please!

  1. I have both Winamp and WMP installed and everything opens with WMP because I've set it to.

And finally to set WMP file associations, you just click on Tools>Options>File Types, click Select All and hit Apply.

You must still have some sort of Winamp on your system, perhaps an earlier version. You could go through and search for all instances of Winamp and delete them, then run CCleaner registry cleaner to make sure all mentions of it are removed from the registry. http://www.ccleaner.com/
