Can someone help me with a geometry problem?

I'm having the biggest problem with this problem, I've tried it more than a couple times and I still don't get it so i was wondering if someone could walk me through it?

Write an equation for a circle with center at P(5, -3) and a diameter of 8 units.

diameter=8, radius =4

(x-5)^2 +(y+3)^2 =16
